Balance Garden

Inspired by the book “The Secret Garden,” the Balance Garden will transform a former industrial site into a vibrant sanctuary that demonstrates urban sustainability practices, builds community, and promotes public health. Supported by generous grant funding from Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis, the garden will capture and clean 6,201 cubic feet of stormwater runoff annually, and prevent 161 pounds of sediment and pollutants from washing into our watershed. Twenty-five newly planted trees and 1,800 Minnesota native perennials will support pollinators, clean our air, and provide a place to relax and restore. "The beautiful is as useful as the useful. More so, perhaps."
